Business development at Five Star focuses on the growth of our current business products through the focus on our customers and the relationships we foster with them. The position would work closely with all members of the Five Star team, but would be directed and mentored by the resident services supervisor and office manager.

The goals of the internship would be for the new team member to gain a more robust understanding of facilitating business growth through customer service and relationship management and to gain the experience of working in multiple positions within a fast paced and close-knit team. A general or developing understanding of basic business practices will be helpful, but the ability to communicate and interact well with the public and the Five Star team is a requirement.

In addition to your mentoring sessions, your independent tasks would include:
• Interacting with customers in and out of the office
• Maintaining and updating marketing content for properties, the company, and social media
• Maintaining and updating a work flow monitoring system
• Preparing, reviewing, and completing lease agreements
• Maintaining and updating a customer relationship management system
• Working with accounts receivable
• Assisting with reputation/review management
• Working with financial reporting

Depending on experience and/or ability, the pay will range from $9.00 to $12.00 per hour. Benefits include paid time off, paid holidays, 401(k) with match, and working with a fun, close-knit team. The position must work 20 hours per week at minimum during the school year and 40 hours per week during the summer. Many students have found that the flexibility of working 20-25 hours per week during the school year and full time during the summer is an ideal situation. Five Star manages over 650 rental homes in the Pocatello area and 10 homeowner associations with approximately 700 homes within those communities. The position would work closely with all members of the team, but would be directed and mentored by the owner and office manager personally.

The goals of the internship would be for the new team member to gain a more robust understanding of all aspects of developing and running a small business and to gain the experience of working in multiple positions within a fast paced and close knit team. A general or developing understanding of the basic fields in business (Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, and Management) will be helpful, but the ability to communicate and interact well with the public and the Five Star team is a requirement.

• Maintaining and updating marketing content

• Working with the general ledger and reconciliations

Depending on experience and/or ability, the pay will range from $9.00 to $12.00 per hour with paid holiday and paid time off benefits. The position must work 20 hours per week at minimum. Many students have found that the flexibility of working part time during the school year and full time during the summer is an ideal situation. Service operations management at our company is the management of an in-house property services team and hundreds of different third party vendors maintaining a real estate portfolio worth over $40 million here in the Pocatello area. The position would work closely with all members of the Five Star team, but would be directed and mentored by the property services manager and office manager.

The goals of the internship would be for the new team member to gain a more robust understanding of directing a service based operation and to gain the experience of working in multiple positions within a fast paced and close knit team. A general or developing understanding of basic business practices and maintenance/construction will be helpful, but the ability to communicate and interact well with the public and the Five Star team is a requirement.

• Coordinating vendors
• Interacting with owners and residents
• Maintaining and updating a work flow monitoring system
• Working with accounts receivable
• Working with financial reporting

Depending on experience and/or ability, the pay will range from $9.00 to $12.00 per hour with paid holiday and paid time off benefits. The position must work 20 hours per week at minimum. Many students have found that the flexibility of working part time during the school year and full time during the summer is an ideal situation. We are open during normal business hours Monday through Saturday and closed on Sundays.

A real estate background is not required, but the ability to communicate and interact well with the public is necessary. Resident Service duties may include scheduling and performing property showings, reviewing lease agreements with residents, assisting with marketing, or processing rental applications. Property Services duties may include coordination and oversight of property maintenance as well as review and processing of vendor invoices. Employees with relevant experience have the opportunity to make $12-$15 per hour plus benefits depending on skills and ability. Entry level pay is between $9-$12 per hour plus benefits. All positions must work 20 hours per week at minimum and full time during the summer.
